On our quest for beer up and down the land we occasionally take in a brewery or two just to sample the overall flavour of the organisation.

The really rather marvellous Tring Brewery gained our attention this month and we are jolly glad that it did because it’s where we found this months intertwit.com Beer of the Month! Yes!

Tring Brewery Company – Apache 3.9%

Nice head

This well established Hertfordshire based brewery has been producing quality pints from the very pleasant market town of Tring for the best part of 25 years. Operating from a modern and spacious brewhouse the Tring lads really know their stuff if our highly enjoyable Brewery Tour visit is anything to go by (the fish & chips and limitless beer supply also helped).

Modern

Spacious Mash Tun

Apache is one of Tring’s monthly specials and like all 2017’s speciality beers is named after a different helicopter to help raise awareness for the Herts Air Ambulance Service.

The beer itself is made with a variety of English Cascade & Jester hops and is both late and dry hopped to give it a bit of extra aroma and dryness. It really is a massively drinkable beer and just right for Spring. We look forward to the rest of the years new beers!

If you are local to the area, we strongly recommend you pop along and have a look for yourself. If you’re not local then make a point of going anyway (with a responsible driver obviously).

Intertwit Tasting Notes:

Beer Colour: Golden reddish brown (…texture like sun)

Strength: 3.9%. Multi-pinter.

Best time to drink it: Prior to (and after) being flown in a helicopter although you could replace the helicopter with a bus if a helicopter is not to hand.

If you must eat food with this: Cod & chips

Overall Rating: 7.9 (out of 10).

I like Tring beers especially the one about the toad.

Graham Poll the referee used to live in Tring didn’t he? Ref’d like he’d just come out of a brewery if you ask me.
